More powertrain options are availablewith a choice of four engines: the 1.6 litreiTi turbo petrol, the 1.4 litre iTi turbo petrol,1.8 litre ECOTEC petrol and 2.0 litreturbo diesel. The Holden Cruze delivers 4-cylinder fuel economy with outstanding performance,ride and handling.

1.6 LITRE ITI TURBO PETROL ENGINE
Standard on the SRi and SRi Z-Series,the 1.6 litre iTi turbo petrol engine delivers more responsive performance and surprising efficiency like never before. It is truly exciting to drive with 132kW of power and 230Nm of torque. Choose the manual transmission fora combined highway and city fuel economy of 7.4L/100km. Go with the automatic transmission enhanced by Sport modefor more responsive acceleration and a combined cycle of 7.9L/100km.

1.4 LITRE ITI TURBO PETROL ENGINE
The advanced DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinderiTi turbo petrol engine takes efficient drivinganother step forward. The intelligent turboinduction (iTi) system uses an exhaustmanifold integrated turbo charger to providesuperior performance with an enviable fuel economy of 6.8L/100km^. This combination of high tech efficiency and performance is optional on the Equipe Sedan and Hatch.

1.8 LITRE ECOTEC PETROL ENGINE
The 1.8 litre DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinderECOTEC petrol engine is standard onEquipe, Sportwagon (CD & CDX) andZ-Series Sedan. This advanced, petrol engine produces spirited performancefrom low revs to high.

2.0 LITRE TURBO DIESEL ENGINE
Choose the super smooth 2.0 litre DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder common railturbo diesel, optional on Equipe, Sportwagon(CD & CDX) and Z-Series Sedan. Thediesel engine uses a high-performance fuel injection system and electronically controlled turbo charger with intercooler, to deliver power to spare with the fuel economy and CO2emissions you expect from a state-of-the-art diesel.

SPORT MODE
When you select Sport mode and start negotiating demanding twists and turns,the transmission’s computer commands downshifts to ensure the right gear isreadily available. The lower gears enhance braking and help maintain your control through the turn, before accelerating out of it. Monitoring high-throttle driving and hard braking, the transmission will stay in lower gears to assist in acceleration and prepare for the next corner. When more moderate driving conditions are detected it will upshift through the gears to the normal setting.It is just another way that Cruze creates more exciting driving.

SPORTS SUSPENSION
Finally a high performance finely-tuned sports suspension that very few smallcars can genuinely claim. Incorporating sport tyres and a more responsive chassis tune, this locally-tuned suspension delivers outstanding agility and grip when cornering.

HOLDEN CRUZE IS SERIOUS ABOUT SAFETY
So serious, in fact, it has a 5-Star ANCAP safety rating standard across the range.Cruze achieves this highest possible rating with a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art active and passive safety systems. To help you avoid an accident, there is everything from Electronic Stability Control(ESC) and 4-wheel disc brakes withAnti-lock Braking System (ABS), throughto Traction Control, Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. Should a collision occur, the active safety systems in the Cruze instantly activatethe necessary occupant protection systems,including up to six airbags – front driverand passenger, dual front side and full length side curtain airbags for front andrear passengers.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL
If the vehicle is about to skid,ESC will apply brake pressure to individual wheels as appropriate,and trim engine power if required.This dramatically increases turning and cornering safety, particularlyin evasive action situations whereit helps stop the vehicle skidding out of control.
